About Mentalzon:
Mentalzon.com connects individuals across the UK with verified, highly qualified mental health and psychological specialists. We provide a secure, flexible platform that empowers practitioners like Clinical Neuropsychologists to manage their independent remote practice effectively, increasing access to specialised assessments and interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Remote Clinical Neuropsychology Services: Provide expert online neuropsychological consultations, assessments (utilising validated remote methods where appropriate and feasible), and feedback sessions.
- Conduct Specialist Assessments: Administer, score, and interpret a range of neuropsychological tests remotely (where validated and appropriate), assessing cognitive domains such as memory, attention, executive function, language, and visuospatial skills. Acknowledge and address the limitations of remote assessment.
- Formulation and Reporting: Integrate complex assessment data with clinical information to develop neuropsychological formulations, contribute to differential diagnosis, and write comprehensive, high-quality reports for referrers, clients, and families.
- Rehabilitation & Intervention Support: Contribute expert opinion to neuropsychological rehabilitation planning, advise on cognitive strategies, and provide psychoeducation to clients and their support systems regarding cognitive/emotional changes post-brain injury or neurological illness.
- Adhere to Highest Standards: Maintain meticulous, confidential records (GDPR compliant) and practice in strict accordance with HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics and BPS Division of Neuropsychology (DoN) professional guidelines.
- Direct Client/Referrer Liaison: Manage communications regarding appointments, assessment scope, fees, and report dissemination directly.
- Engage in Specialist Supervision: Actively participate in regular clinical supervision with a qualified Clinical Neuropsychologist (ideally SRCN registered).
Essential Requirements:
- Foundation Qualification: Doctoral level qualification in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy or equivalent) or another relevant Practitioner Psychology domain, approved by the HCPC.
- Mandatory HCPC Registration: Current, unrestricted registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (typically Clinical domain) with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is essential. Your HCPC number is required.
- Specialist Neuropsychology Status: Entry onto the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN) is highly desirable and may be required for consideration. Alternatively, evidence of having completed the BPS Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN) and being eligible for SRCN registration will be strongly considered.
- Clinical Experience: Significant post-qualification experience working as a Clinical Neuropsychologist, including specialist assessment (ideally with some remote experience), formulation, and rehabilitation/intervention across a range of neurological conditions (e.g., TBI, stroke, dementia, epilepsy).
- Specialist Supervision: Confirmed arrangement for ongoing clinical supervision with a supervisor experienced in clinical neuropsychology, preferably SRCN registered.
- Professional Indemnity Insurance: Must hold adequate insurance covering specialist clinical neuropsychology practice (including remote assessment/consultation) in the UK.
- Right to Work: Legal entitlement to work on a self-employed basis in the UK.
- Technical Proficiency: High level of competence with secure video conferencing platforms suitable for clinical work, reliable high-speed internet, and appropriate technical setup for potential remote test administration/viewing. A secure, private workspace is mandatory.
- Core Skills: Advanced skills in neuropsychological assessment and interpretation, report writing, clinical formulation, communication with clients with cognitive/communication difficulties, ethical practice, and adapting practice to remote settings.
Desirable Requirements:
- Full entry onto the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN).
- Experience in specific areas of neuropsychology (e.g., paediatric, older adult, forensic, specific conditions).
- Formal training or significant experience in remote neuropsychological assessment techniques and platforms.
- Research or publications in clinical neuropsychology.

If you are an HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist with specialist training and experience in Clinical Neuropsychology (ideally SRCN registered or eligible), and you are seeking a flexible, autonomous remote practice opportunity, Mentalzon provides the platform. Apply today to bring your specialist skills to clients across the UK.
Crucial Regulatory & Professional Note: While 'Clinical Neuropsychologist' is not itself a legally protected title in the UK, the practice requires mandatory registration with the HCPC under a relevant Practitioner Psychologist title (usually Clinical Psychologist). Furthermore, the recognised UK standard for demonstrating specialist competence in this field is entry onto the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN), achieved via the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN). Therefore, both HCPC registration and evidence of specialist neuropsychology training/status (ideally SRCN) are essential for this role. This is a self-employed position, and practitioners are responsible for adhering to all HCPC, BPS/DoN, legal, ethical, insurance, and supervision requirements for independent specialist practice. Careful consideration must be given to the suitability and limitations of remote neuropsychological assessment.
