We are seeking passionate Special Needs Educators in Malaysia to provide personalized remote tutoring, intervention, and parent coaching. Our mission is to empower families with the strategies and support they need to help their children succeed academically and developmentally.

The Opportunity:

This is a unique opportunity for skilled Special Needs Educators to build a flexible and independent practice online. Apply your expertise in curriculum adaptation, individualized instruction, and behavior support in a one-on-one setting. Coach parents, deliver targeted interventions to students, and make a profound impact on a family's educational journey, all while managing your own schedule and working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver One-on-One Online Tutoring/Intervention: Conduct remote learning sessions with students to provide targeted support in core academic areas (e.g., literacy, numeracy, writing) and functional skills, using adapted, evidence-based teaching methods.
  • Provide Parent Coaching and Strategy Sessions: This is a core component of the role. Train and guide parents on how to implement effective teaching strategies, structure a supportive home learning environment, use visual aids, and manage learning-related behaviors.
  • Develop Individualized Learning Materials: Create and share customized digital and printable learning resources and activities that parents and students can use to reinforce skills between sessions.
  • Consult on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Help parents understand their child's school-based IEP, break down its goals into manageable home-based activities, and track progress.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualification: A Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Special Education, or a related field such as Education or Psychology with a formal postgraduate qualification (diploma/certificate) in Special Needs Education.
  • Experience: Demonstrable hands-on experience teaching or working directly with children with a range of special needs, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, dyslexia, dyscalculia, and intellectual disabilities.
  • Pedagogical Skills: Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, curriculum adaptation, behavior management techniques, and evidence-based teaching methodologies for diverse learners.
  • Parent Collaboration: Proven experience working in close partnership with parents to support a child's learning and development.
  • Setup: Access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection and a suitable, quiet space for conducting professional online teaching sessions.
  • Right to Work: Must have the legal right to work on a self-employed basis in Malaysia.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Specific training or certification in evidence-based educational programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, structured literacy approaches, positive behavior support).
  • Experience creating and utilizing interactive digital learning tools and resources.
  • Experience working with specific age groups (e.g., early intervention, primary, secondary).

Conditions of Engagement (Self-Employed Basis):

  • Flexibility: You have complete control over your working hours and the number of students you take on.
  • Direct Impact: Work closely with families to see tangible progress in a child's skills and confidence.
  • Direct Compensation: Set your own competitive hourly rates for tutoring and parent coaching sessions. You receive payments directly from clients with no platform commission.
  • Location Independence: Provide your specialized educational services to families anywhere in Malaysia.
  • Build Your Practice: Establish yourself as an independent special needs consultant and educator.

How to Join Mentalzon:

  1. Create Your Profile: Register as a specialist on Mentalzon.com, highlighting your qualifications, teaching experience, and areas of expertise in special needs education.
  2. Upload Documents: Provide copies of your degree, diploma, or other relevant teaching certifications for verification.
  3. Await Verification: Allow our administrative team time to review and approve your credentials.

If you are considering psychotherapy but do not know where to start, a free initial consultation is the perfect first step. It will allow you to explore your options, ask questions, and feel more confident about taking the first step towards your well-being.

It is a 30-minute, completely free meeting with a Mental Health specialist that does not obligate you to anything.

What are the benefits of a free consultation?

Who is a free consultation suitable for?

Important:

Potential benefits of a free initial consultation

During this first session: potential clients have the chance to learn more about you and your approach before agreeing to work together.

Offering a free consultation will help you build trust with the client. It shows them that you want to give them a chance to make sure you are the right person to help them before they move forward. Additionally, you should also be confident that you can support your clients and that the client has problems that you can help them cope with. Also, you can avoid any ethical difficult situations about charging a client for a session in which you choose not to proceed based on fit.

We've found that people are more likely to proceed with therapy after a free consultation, as it lowers the barrier to starting the process. Many people starting therapy are apprehensive about the unknown, even if they've had sessions before. Our culture associates a "risk-free" mindset with free offers, helping people feel more comfortable during the initial conversation with a specialist.

Another key advantage for Specialist

Specialists offering free initial consultations will be featured prominently in our upcoming advertising campaign, giving you greater visibility.

It's important to note that the initial consultation differs from a typical therapy session:
