Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Remote Psycho-Educational Assessments: Perform comprehensive remote assessments using clinical interviews, behavioural observations, and validated online assessment tools to investigate learning difficulties such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD.
  • Design and Deliver Individualized Learning Interventions: Create and implement personalized, evidence-based intervention plans to help students develop academic skills, cognitive strategies, and compensatory techniques to overcome their learning challenges.
  • Provide Expert Parent Consultation and Coaching: Guide parents in understanding their child's specific learning profile and diagnosis. Equip them with practical strategies and resources to effectively support their child's learning and advocate for them at school.
  • Write Professional Reports: Prepare clear and comprehensive psycho-educational reports outlining assessment findings, diagnostic conclusions, and detailed recommendations for both parents and schools.
  • Liaise with Schools (as a consultant to the family): Advise parents on how to best collaborate with their child's school to implement recommended educational accommodations and support plans.

Essential Requirements:

  • UAE Professional License: Must hold a current, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Psychologist from a recognized UAE authority, such as the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH), Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP), or Community Development Authority (CDA).
  • Education: A Master's Degree or Doctorate (PhD, PsyD) in Educational Psychology from a reputable, accredited university.
  • Experience: Demonstrable post-qualification experience in conducting psycho-educational assessments and providing evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents with a variety of learning difficulties and developmental disorders.
  • Residency: Must be a current resident of the United Arab Emirates.
  • Telehealth Assessment Skills: Proficiency and experience in adapting assessment and intervention techniques for a remote service delivery model.
  • Setup: Access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection and a private, professional, and confidential space suitable for conducting assessments and therapy sessions.

Desirable Requirements:

  • In-depth experience with specific learning disorders (dyslexia, etc.) and neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD).
  • Familiarity with the diverse international curricula common in the UAE (e.g., IB, A-Level, American).
  • Fluency in Arabic in addition to English.
  • Membership in relevant international professional organizations.
