Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Remote Psychotherapy with Children & Adolescents: Provide evidence-based online therapy for a wide range of childhood emotional and behavioral issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment difficulties, and ADHD-related challenges. Utilize age-appropriate techniques like adapted play therapy and cognitive-behavioral strategies.
  • Perform Psychological Assessments: Conduct remote clinical interviews, behavioral observations, and administer appropriate screening and assessment tools to aid in the diagnosis and treatment planning for children and adolescents.
  • Provide Parent Guidance and Intervention: Deliver essential support, coaching, and parent management training to help parents understand their child's needs and implement effective strategies at home.
  • Collaborate with External Stakeholders: With parental consent, liaise with schools, pediatricians, and other professionals involved in the child's care to ensure a holistic approach.
  • Maintain Professional and Ethical Standards: Keep meticulous, confidential clinical records and adhere to all regulations and ethical codes set forth by your UAE licensing authority (DHA, DOH, or MOHAP).

Essential Requirements:

  • UAE Professional License: Must hold a current, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Clinical Psychologist from a recognized UAE health authority:
    • Dubai Health Authority (DHA)
    • Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH)
    • Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP)
  • Education: A Master's Degree or Doctorate (PhD, PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from a reputable, accredited university.
  • Specialized Experience: Significant and demonstrable post-qualification experience providing psychological assessment and therapy specifically to children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Residency: Must be a current resident of the United Arab Emirates.
  • Telehealth Competency: Proficiency in adapting therapeutic and assessment techniques for a remote setting and in ethically and effectively engaging young clients and their parents online.
  • Setup: Access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection and a private, professional space that ensures confidentiality during all sessions.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Additional certifications or advanced training in play therapy, family systems therapy, or specific modalities like Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) or CBT for children.
  • In-depth experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD).
  • Fluency in Arabic in addition to English.
